1. The Fast School Braid
Brush hair to the left if the part is on the right.
Keep smoothing until it is like you are doing a low side pony tail.
Divide the hair into three equal pieces right behind her left ear.
Do a basic braid, but keep the pieces as tight as you can.
It will appear like it has been french braided, but it isn't.
Keep the braid tight all the way down. We need this to last all day at school.
Add an ouchless elastic.
Hair spray and she can walk out the door.
2. The Fancy Braid
Spray and and part the hair on the right side.
Brush and smooth the hair.
Add some hair spray to help you keep it in place.
Start with the top layer of hair all around the head and begin the braid above and behind the left ear.
I do the Fancy Braid looser than the Fast School Braid. That is why I hair spray so much at the beginning.
Then add the next layer of hair all around in a french braid.
In a french braid you always kind of comb/brush out the pieces that you add if they are bumpy.
Continue to add the next layer all around.
When you have used all of the hair, continue with the basic braid.
Put the ouchless elastic on the braid leaving about 4 inches of hair left at the end.
Curl it into three separate ringlets.
Add a ribbon, bow or clip.
These two were done on different days. The white dress braid is done even looser than the stripes braid. We started higher on her head in the stripes braid. The variation is up to you. They both turned out great.
